Welcome to FLB Trade Shield

The discipline you can't override in the moment. FLB Trade Shield is the risk engine of the suite — a behavioral guardrail that enforces your own rules when you're least able to enforce them yourself. It sits over your account and watches the trading: how much you've lost on the day, how you're behaving after a string of losers, whether you're drifting past the limits you set when you were calm. When a line is crossed, it acts — blocking new entries, imposing a cooldown, or locking the account for the session.

Every other FLB tool helps you find and place good trades. Trade Shield exists for a different problem: the trades you shouldn't take at all. Most accounts aren't lost on bad setups — they're lost on revenge trades, blown daily limits, and one tilted afternoon. This tool is built to make those outcomes impossible to reach in the heat of the moment. THE CORE PRINCIPLE. Your edge is only as good as your worst hour.

The rules you set calm — a daily loss limit, a position cap, a stop after three losers — are exactly the rules you'll want to break when you're down and angry. Trade Shield holds those rules for you, so a moment of tilt can't undo a month of discipline.

How It Governs

An enforcement layer over your account. Trade Shield runs as an account-level engine, not a chart indicator. Once configured, it monitors your trading continuously and steps in through three kinds of action — escalating with the severity of what it sees. ACTION WHAT HAPPENS Entry block New entries in a disallowed direction or beyond a limit are stopped before they're placed. Your open trades are not touched.

Cooldown After a trigger, a mandatory wait is imposed before you can enter again — forcing a pause where you'd otherwise revenge-trade. Session lockout When a hard limit is hit — the daily loss cap, or a tilt score past threshold — the account is locked for the session. The day is over, by design. break your rules; it does not force-close positions you already hold. Your stops and targets still manage open risk — the Shield makes sure you never add a trade you'll regret.

Keep your own protective stop on every position.

The Daily Loss Limit

The hard floor under your day. The daily loss limit is the simplest and most important protection: a maximum you're willing to lose in a single session. Trade Shield tracks your running loss against it in real time, and when you reach it, the account locks for the day. No more entries. The decision to stop — the hardest one to make when you're convinced the next trade wins it all back — is made for you, in advance.

Because the lock is enforced by the engine rather than your willpower, it works precisely when willpower fails: down on the day, certain you can recover it, one click from doubling the damage. The limit you set this morning is the one that holds this afternoon. THE LIMIT IS A COMMITMENT, NOT A SUGGESTION. Set the daily loss limit at the number that genuinely ends your day — the loss past which you are no longer trading well. Setting it loose 'just in case' defeats the purpose.

The whole value is that you cannot move it once you're in the red.

Tilt Detection

Catching the spiral before it costs you. Tilt — trading from frustration instead of a plan — is where good traders do real damage. Trade Shield models it with a tilt score that rises as risk behavior accumulates: consecutive losses, trading too fast after a loser, pushing size, and other patterns that signal you've stopped following your process. As the score climbs, the Shield escalates.

CLEAR WARNING LOCKOUT tilt score Tilt score climbs on losses & risk behavior — crosses the line, the account locks DAILY LOSS CAP The score builds Each loss and each risk behavior adds to the tilt score. A clean, patient session keeps it low; a frustrated one drives it up. A warning fires As the score approaches the threshold, Trade Shield warns you — a window to step back on your own before it intervenes. Cooldown, then lockout Past the line, a cooldown is imposed; if the behavior continues, the account locks.

The spiral is cut off before it empties the account. restarts. You can't reset the platform to escape a lockout you've earned — the cooldown is honored when you come back. That permanence is the point: the rule means nothing if a restart erases it.

Prop Pass Mode

Built for funded-account rules. For traders working a prop-firm evaluation, Trade Shield includes a Prop Pass mode that maps your challenge's rules into the engine. It tracks your progress toward the profit target and, just as importantly, polices the trailing drawdown — following your account's high-water mark and warning or locking before you breach the limit that fails the evaluation.

TRACKS Pass target Your progress toward the profit goal for the evaluation — so you know exactly how much is left and when to ease off. Trailing drawdown The high-water-mark drawdown line that fails most challenges — enforced so a good run isn't given back into a breach. Limits as you near them Warnings and lockouts as you approach the drawdown, the daily limit, or the target — keeping you inside the rules that keep the account. PASSING IS A RISK PROBLEM, NOT A PROFIT PROBLEM.

Most evaluations are failed on the drawdown, not missed on the target. Prop Pass mode keeps the trailing limit in front of you and enforces it — so the challenge is won by not breaching, which is exactly where discipline, not aggression, gets you funded.

Directional Bias

An entry filter — and only that. Trade Shield can enforce a directional bias on the account — LONGS ONLY, SHORTS ONLY, or NO TRADE — so that when the regime favors one side, you simply cannot open a trade against it. It's the same gate the FLB indicators reference, enforced at the account level: in a longs-only state, a short entry is blocked before it's placed. One distinction matters above all: bias is an entry filter, not a position manager.

It controls which new trades you can open — it does not close, flatten, or manage a trade you already hold. If the bias flips while you're in a position, your existing trade is left exactly as it is, managed by your own stop and targets. The Shield only stops you from adding against the new bias. BIAS BLOCKS NEW ENTRIES — IT DOES NOT EXIT FOR YOU. Never rely on a bias change to get you out of a trade. A longs-only state will stop you opening a short; it will not close a long you're holding.

Every open position still needs its own protective stop — the bias governs the next trade, not the current one.

Caps, Automation & Integrity

The rest of the guardrail. Position size cap Trade Shield enforces a maximum position size — a hard ceiling on contracts the account cannot exceed, no matter what an order ticket says. It's the backstop against a fat-finger or an over-sized revenge trade slipping through.

Automation-account mode For traders running automated strategies, an automation-account mode lets the Shield govern algorithmic order flow the same way it governs manual trading — so your automation is held to the same daily limit, tilt, and size rules you are. Manual lockout You can also lock yourself out for the session on demand — a single deliberate action when you know you're done, honored with the same permanence as an earned lockout. Discipline you choose, enforced so you can't take it back.

Tamper protection The Shield watches its own integrity. Attempts to disable or circumvent it in order to keep trading are themselves treated as a risk event — the engine responds rather than quietly letting the guardrail be removed mid-session. The protection is only real if it can't be switched off the moment it becomes inconvenient.

Sessions, resets & lockouts Trade Shield tracks the trading session and resets its daily counters on a defined schedule, so each day starts fresh while the limits carry their full force within the day. Tilt lockouts and manual lockouts persist across restarts — a locked session stays locked. Clearing a lockout is a deliberate, out-of-band action (an explicit session-reset step), never a casual toggle — because if escaping the lock were easy, the lock would be meaningless. CONFIGURE IT WHEN YOU'RE CALM.

TRUST IT WHEN YOU'RE NOT. The entire design assumes the calm version of you sets the rules and the heated version has to live with them. Set honest limits in the morning, verify them on Sim, and then let the Shield do the one job willpower can't — hold the line when you most want to cross it.

Common Mistakes

How traders defeat their own Shield. Setting the limits loose A daily loss limit you set high 'just in case' is no limit at all. Set it at the number that genuinely ends your day, then let it be immovable. The point is that you can't widen it when you're down. Trying to trade around a lockout Restarting the platform, switching accounts, or disabling the Shield to keep trading after a lock is the exact behavior it exists to stop — and it's treated as a risk event. The locked day is over. Walk away.

Expecting bias to close trades Directional bias blocks new entries against the regime; it does not exit a position you already hold. Keep a protective stop on every open trade — always. Leaning on the size cap to size trades The max-position cap is a catastrophe stop, not a position-sizing method. Size from risk with Trade Pilot; let the cap simply guarantee you can never exceed it. Treating the warning as the limit The tilt warning is your chance to step back voluntarily — not permission to take one more.

If you're seeing warnings, the session is already telling you to stop. Configuring it while tilted Set your rules calm, before the session. Loosening limits mid-day because they're in your way is the heated version of you overruling the disciplined one — which is what the Shield is built to prevent. Skipping the Sim check It governs real order flow and locks real accounts. Verify your limits, lockouts, and (if used) automation and Prop Pass behavior on Sim before trusting it with live capital.

Final Word

From the desk of BH. FLB Trade Shield is the most important tool in the suite, and the one traders resist the most — because it's the only one that tells you no. Everything else helps you act; this one stops you. And stopping, at the right moment, is the entire difference between a drawdown and a blown account. The hard truth behind it is simple: you will not be disciplined in the moment that matters most. Down on the day, three losers deep, certain the next one comes back — that is precisely when willpower loses.

The Shield doesn't ask you to be stronger; it just holds the rules you already agreed to, so the worst version of you can't overrule the best version that set them. The members who last share three habits. They set honest limits while calm and never loosen them in the red. They respect the lock — a locked day is a finished day, full stop. And they keep their own protective stop on every trade, because the Shield guards the next entry, not the open position.

Discipline you build into the system is discipline you keep. REMEMBER. Your edge is only as good as your worst hour. Set the rules that protect you, let the Shield enforce them, and trust the lock when you least want to. Stop trading price.
